"A
few women deciding to greet middle age with verve, humor, and élan.
We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life…."
Sue Ellen Cooper, Queen Mother, Feb 6, 2001 |
The Red Hat Society began as a result of a
few women deciding to greet middle age with verve, humor, and élan.
We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life and since we
are
all in it together, we might as well join our red gloved hands
and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity,
we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences
and
a genuine
enthusiasms for wherever life takes us next. |
There is a Queen Mother, a Vice Queen, an Anti-Parliamentarian
(to make certain there are NO rules), a Hysterian (vs. Historian)
to take pictures of events. No dues, no rules, just fun!
Meet about once a month to have fun! |
The
spirit of the society forbids that we make rules. |
Here
are some suggestions: |
| |
You
must be a woman of 50 or over, |
| |
and must attend functions in full regalia (red hat,
purple outfit) |
| |
Buy
a red hat for yourself and/or for someone else |
| . |
Invite
other women into chapter |
| |
(A new member might be invited to join with the gift
of a red hat) |
| |
Each
member is responsible for her own purple outfit |
| |
Plan
your first tea and go out in your ensembles |
| |
Stand
back and watch the society take on a life of its own |
Enjoy
Yourselves! |
